The taxonomic status is reviewed and the members of the subgenus are here presented for the first time with photographs and line drawings illustrating the specific distinguishing characters. An identification key and distribution maps are given. A new species, Pseudoanthidium (Exanthidium) deserticolum sp. n. is described from Saudi Arabia. It is close to P.
