The article makes a contribution to the problem recently raised, by Prof. Bresciani-Turroni and Prof. Gini, about the concordance of direct exchange rates and cross-rates under a system of bilateral trade. The author summarises the two theses and illustrates their terms. He goes back to the solution given by Walras and calls attention to the additional unnecessary hypotheses, whose introduction into the demonstration has given rise to divergent conclusions.
