The work is a review article of a recently published book by Ben Hansen (A Study in the Theory of Inflation, Allen & Unwin, 1951). The author considers first the question of a definition of inflation and makes clear his general approach. In the second section he discusses certain specific situations and the effect of different government policies on them. In the third section problems raised by a dynamic analysis of inflation are examined, while the last section closes with some general reflections on Dr. Hansen’s work.
