The article reexamines the subject of Keynesian doctrines as treated by German writers. In reviewing the discussions that have taken place, the author subjects the anti-Keynesian positions taken by some of the leading German economists, more especially Weber, Roepke and Hahn, to close criticism. The article thus offers an exhaustive picture of the present state of such discussions in Germany and in the German literature. Moreover, the author provides a synthesis of the nature and importance of the contribution to economic theory made by Keynes.
