The future of Italian natural gas and oil

The discoveries of natural gas and oil that have recently been made in Sicily and in the Abruzzi have brought the petroleum sector of the Italian economy once more in to the hot topics of the day. Lively discussions are going on both concerning proposals for reforms in the law and concerning the general lines of economic policy. And the depute reflects not only contrasting domestic interests but also powerful international interests. The present article analyses the opposing viewpoints of this debate.
