Website Restored After IT Outage: Important Update for Authors and Reviewers

Dear colleagues,

recently Sapienza University of Rome, where our journal website is hosted, experienced a serious cybersecurity incident that resulted in a prolonged IT outage. We attempted to keep readers, and especially authors and reviewers, informed by email and through our social media channels; however, this was not always possible. Please accept our apologies.

I am pleased to inform you that, as of today, the website is fully operational again. With a slight delay, we expect to publish the forthcoming March issue in the coming weeks, as planned.

Unfortunately, the outage has affected the editorial handling of a number of submissions. In several cases, the evaluation process has been delayed or interrupted. Moreover, the version of the site we were able to restore reflects the situation only up to February 1.

For this reason, we kindly ask all authors and reviewers with whom we have not been in contact in recent weeks to please write to us, preferably via the journal email address (pslqr@uniroma1.it), so that we can confirm the current status of submissions and referee reports and, if needed, recover any missing files. At this stage, we cannot yet rule out that some materials may have been lost during the outage.

We trust you will understand that these events were entirely beyond our control, and we are doing everything possible to resume normal operations as quickly as we can. If your work has been affected, please accept our (and my personal) sincere apologies once again.
