Roberto Ducci. Un diplomatico e un poeta

Abstract

A name that is linked to the most important choices and decisions of Italian foreign policy during the years of the first Republic: from the participation to the multilateral cooperation to the construction of Europe, to the pacification of the relations with Yugoslavia and Austria.Roberto Ducci emerged immediately as one of the most brilliant and talented personalities of a generation not set aside from risks and troubles. Endowed of an important inclination for literature and for poetry in particular, his family tradition and his sense of duty brought him to choose the diplomaticcareer. He said about himself: «I have chosen diplomacy to do something, but I do write to be».RÉSUMÉ - Nom qui est lié aux choix de politique etrangère les plus important de la première République italienne: de la participation à la coopération multilatérale à la construction européenne, à l’assouplissement des divergences avec la Yougoslavie et l’Autrice. Ducci apparaît comme une des personnalités les plus talentueuses et les plus vives d’une génération qui n’a pas été épargnée par les drames et les dangers. Doté d’un penchant remarquable pour la littérature et la poésie en particulière, sa tradition familiale et son sens poussé du devoir le conduisirent à choisir la carrière diplomatique.Il disait de soi-même: «J’ai choisi la diplomatie pour faire, mais j’écris pour être».
