Jihadism and instability in Pakistan: an analysis.

Abstract

For the outside word, there is always the feeling that Pakistan will soon become a failed State.It is particularly the case since the beginning of the War on terrorism. The Jihadists seems to be able to challenge a State unable to eliminate them. But how important is really the jihadist threat in Pakistan? This article tries to answer this questions. It focuses on the different jihadist movements active in Pakistan, in particular the Lashkar-e-Taiba.De l’extérieur, on a toujours le sentiment que le Pakistan va s’écrouler depuis le début de la guerre contre le terrorisme. Les djihadistes semblent capables de défier un État incapable de les éliminer. Mais jusqu’où peut-on parler de menace djihadiste sur le Pakistan?
