The perception of job insecurity is a frequent and increasing phenomenon in the current social and economic context. The availability of reliable and valid metrics to measure this phenomenon is of paramount importance. In the present paper, we suggest a modification to the Chirumbolo et al.’s (2015) job insecurity scale, revising an item from the Italian version. A questionnaire was submitted to 315 Italian employees. One hundred and fifty-seven employees filled in the original scale and one hundred and fifty-eight employees filled in the modified scale with the proposed revision. Both a confirmatory and exploratory factorial analysis showed that the modified item better describes worries and concerns related to job insecurity. Moreover, the modified scale’s reliability improves compared to the original one.Downloads
