Shakespeare and Philosophical Criticism
Abstract
The essay considers competing ways in which the interface between Shakespeare and philosophy may be conceived. After rejecting some routes, the essay unfolds its own proposal regarding philosophical criticism, exemplifying the approach through a reading of Sonnet 71.
