Abstract

The new regional international organizations and the United Nations system
The establishment and progressive affirmation of the role of regional international organizations representing the interests of newly industrialized or developing countries is a clear indicator of how the global order is shifting more and more towards a multipolar setting. In this short paper, we will focus on the presence of such organizations in the UN system, as a simple metric useful to observe the recognition of the role of these organizations in the international community.
