Abstract

Primary School and Immigrants in the province of Rome
The paper focuses especially on second generations that are now in Italy
a strong percentage of foreign schoolchildren. A first attention is given
to the national situation: we can notice the highest average of foreign
pupils in the provinces of Northern Italy, where their parents have more
opportunities to find employment.
In the remaining parts of Italy, we can only draw our attention to Rome;
in its commune immigration has a long history, so there is a consistent
amount of second generation pupils. In the other communes of the
province, incidence of foreign schoolchildren may be high, but not for the
Italian born. Finally, we distinguish foreign students and their nationality
for each of the nineteen school districts of the commune of Rome; a
higher number of immigrants is evident in the central and in the eastern
side, but primary schools of the entire municipality have a considerably
high number of foreign pupils, coming from different parts of the world
(but especially from Romania and Philippines).

La scolarisation des étrangers à Rome et dans sa province (école primaire)
L'article s'arrête sur la seconde génération des immigrés représentant
aujourd'hui un nombre significatif des étudiants étrangers. Si l'on
considère tout le territoire national, il apparaît évident que la majorité des
étudiants étrangers se trouve au Nord à cause d'une assez bonne chance
de travail pour les parents des jeunes gens. On se concentre ensuite
sur la province de Rome. La commune de Rome possède en effet une
longue histoire concernant l'immigration et c'est pour cela qu'on y trouve
un nombre significatif d'étudiants étrangers de seconde génération. Si
l'on considère la province, on peut dire qu'il y en a, même là-bas, une
présence significative, mais les étudiants nés en Italie ne sont pas la
majorité. Dans les conclusions, on groupe les étudiants étrangers selon
les pays d'origine et on fait cela pour chaque circonscription scolaire (il y
en a 19) de la commune de Rome. On voit que la majorité des immigrés
se concentre dans les circonscriptions de Rome-centre et de Rome-est,
même si l'on trouve un bon nombre d'étudiants étrangers dans les écoles
primaries de toute la ville. On peut affirmer que les étudiants viennent de
tous les pays du monde, mais qu'ils arrivent en particulier de la Roumanie
et des Fhilippines.
