Abstract

Geographical analysis, with digital camera and thermal camera, for the study of
L’Aquila and the seismic crater
In this paper, we provide a framework of the situation in L’Aquila town centre
and other localities in March 2012 regarding the damages to the houses and
historical heritage; we also provide some geographical considerations regarding
new houses and the work produced to re-establish normal conditions. Particularly, for these purposes, we analyse some aerial photograph in visible light and thermal light which derives from the collaboration between the Geography Unit (Dipartimento di Scienze documentarie, linguistico-filologiche e geografiche) of Sapienza University of Rome and the Geographic Research and Application Laboratory (GREAL) of the European University of Rome, showing the added values of these kinds of images in the geographical and interdisciplinary researches.

Analyses géographiques, avec appareil photo et thermo caméra, pour l’étude de L’Aquila et du cratère sismique
Dans cet article, nous fournissons un aperçu de la situation dans l’ancienne ville
de L’Aquila et dans d’autres localités à mars 2012, en ce qui concerne les
dommages aux habitations et au patrimoine historique; de plus nous fournissons
quelques considérations géographiques sur les nouvelles habitations et sur
les travaux effectués dans le but de rétablir des conditions de normalité. En particulier, pour atteindre des tels objectifs, nous analysons des photos aériennes et des photos thermiques qui dérivent de la collaboration entre l’Unité de Géographie (Département de Sciences documentaires, linguistique-philologiques et géographiques) de Sapienza Université de Rome et le Geographic Research and Application Laboratory (GREAL) de l’Université Européenne de Rome, en montrant l’utilité de ce type d’images dans les recherches géographiques effectuées en une perspective interdisciplinaire.
