Abstract

Compliance of Municipal Development Plans with Agenda 2030: the case of the Central Region of Cameroon

This study concerns the coherence between the Community Development Plans (PCD) and the 2030 Agenda in Cameroon and specific ways in the Centre Region. It emerged from our study that 95% of the 360 Cameroonian municipalities are on the Municipal Development Plans. Of the 95% of the existing Municipal Development Plans in Cameroon in 2024, only 41% are not yet updated on the follow-ups and the assessment assumes if they are compliant with the Deming Rule. Of the 18 Municipal Development Plans studies of the Centre Region, 13 are not compliant with the Agenda 2030. This significant non-compliance is characterized by a weak consideration of the seventeen (17) SDGs and five (05) pillars of the 2030 Agenda. Overall, the process of implementing the Municipal Development Plans is not aligned with the 2030 Agenda.
