Realtà e risposta: la disoccupazione tra il 1970 e il 2005 in due importanti riviste (Reality and answer: unemployment between 1970 and 2005 in two important magazines)

Abstract

Gli anni Settanta dello scorso secolo hanno visto una netta cesura con le precedenti tendenze dell’“età dell’oro”. Di fondamentale importanza è stato il ritorno a una disoccupazione persistente. Questo articolo fornisce una panoramica degli effetti di tale cambiamento nelle pubblicazioni del periodo successivo in due principali riviste, l’American Economic Review e l’Economic Journal. Dall’analisi risulta che sia per la frequenza che per i contenuti vi è stato un notevole impatto degli eventi reali e della controversia teorica sui contenuti delle due riviste.

The seventies of the last century saw a clear break with previous trends of '"golden age". Of crucial importance was the return to persistent unemployment. This article provides an overview of the effects of this change in the publications of the post in two major journals, the American Economic Review and the Economic Journal. The analysis shows that both the frequency and content, there was a significant impact of real events and the theoretical controversy on the content of the two magazines.
