No discussion of the relations between the Christian-European and the Islamic world around the Mediterranean can be complete without knowledge of the Aghlabid Emirate. This Emirate was for more than a century one of the main channels of cultural and commercial exchange between the East and the West, as well as the most direct and concrete threat faced by the centre of Christendom in the long period of the Arab expansion. With Ibrahim II, this threat seemed to have almost been realized.Downloads
