Abstract

This article explores the theme of Islamic sacred art and it proposes Sufí art as a possible subcategory of the Islamic art category. In Sufi art the sacred content is an instrument of spiritual refinement and mystical search. Sufí art is the visual embodiment of the spiritual realities contained in the Islamic revelation. The article discusses the themes of creative imagination and inspiration of Sufísm.
