Le donne musulmane, vittime di una doppia discriminazione

Abstract

In the Western World, we find the rhetoric of “saving Muslim women from the oppression of the Muslim male”, because Islam is “violent” and “misogynist”. In Europe, even though this rhetoric wants to “save” them, they are the main target of discrimination. Moreover, in Eastern and North African countries, women often are excluded from the social life because of a male-dominated interpretation of the Quran and Sunna and a prolific creation of false ahadith. In this article, I try to analyse, using reports and Islamic texts, this double discrimination of Muslim women, victims in both Western and in Islamic counties of a Misogynist rhetoric.
