Paths through the Extravagant Letters of Bernardo Tasso. With an Appendix of Unpublished Texts

Abstract

The essay introduces a group of unpublished letters by Bernardo Tasso, offering a reconstruction of the places and moments in which these documents intersect with the author’s dual professional and literary career. The concluding appendix provides the critical, annotated edition of the letters under examination, with the aim of clarifying the poet’s biographical and intellectual trajectory and of contributing to the reassembly – through epistolary dialogue – of a broad arc of the Renaissance season traversed by Tasso.
