La dialettica del potere in un’area di confine: le rivendicazioni tra i comuni di Ivrea e Vercelli (metà XII – metà XIV secolo)

Abstract

This is a study of the political dynamics between the Aosta valley and the eastern hills of the morainic amphitheatre of Ivrea. The political actors involved were different, but in this are analysed some phases of the conflict between the communes of Vercelli and Ivrea, from the mid 12th to the mid 14th century. This conflict had several consequences, among which there are the feudal bond between the two communes and the military union between the commune of Ivrea and the aristocracy of Canavese and Eporediese against the commune of Vercelli.
