Abstract
Delivered on springs 1665 with the patronage of Parisian Melchisedec Thévenot, this speech sets the basis for a more organic and modern study of the encephalon, analizing critically before made attempts of explaining its functions, errors due to the not alway orthodox different techniques of observation, the various and obscure terminolgy used to indicate its different components, the designer's incapacity to reproduce exactly its structure.
