Abstract

This study is based on a statistically significant correlation between pychometric and spirometric parameters which emerged during the survey of a population of children (average age from eight to four). The authors maintains that there is a casual relationship between the appearence, in the evolution of the species, of the voluntary control of breathing arising from mutations in the nucleus and the appearance of creative mental faculties which are typical of human beings ( phase of the primordial Eve). The same voluntary breathing control, as well as particular internal respiratory adaptive mechanisms related to mitochondrial mutations, is the foundation of the folowing phase of the development of speech (phase of the mitochondrial Eve).
