Abstract

The beginning of pharmacopoeias is conventionally attributed to the rules enunciated in around 1220 by the emperor Frederick II. In the following centuries Antidotaria were approved by the authorities, whereas the Nuovo Ricettario Fiorentino was published in 1498 and gathered knowledge derived form Greek, Hellenistic and Arabic Medicine.
