Giuseppe Levi, My Grandfather

Abstract

In the pages that follow, I will sketch out a brief memory of my grandfather,the scientist Giuseppe Levi. During my childhood, he influenced myperception of science as an adventurous journey. I will focus my attentionon his passion, as well as his respect for data, typical of a scientist who wasstill deeply indebted to the positivist legacy. This was an attitude foreign toany form of naiveté, and is still valid today.
