Abstract

In our house, the house of our father Oliviero Mario Olivo, Professor Levi was an object of veneration by our parents, who have transmitted this feeling to us, their children. We consider ourselves lucky to have many letters written by Levi to our father and our mother who were both his students in Turin. Apart from a common interest in science, among them a deep friendship had been established over time, also fostered by a common passion for the mountains. The characteristic of Levi’s letters, covering the period from 1924 to 1964, is that they contain news and information of both scientific and personal aspects of his life.
