Abstract
A large quantity of votive offering representing parts of human bodies has been found in Etruria, Lazio and Campania. An archaeological, methodological and cultural exam throw light on the links existing between magic, religion and ancient medicine. Votive offerings, being far from an anatomically correct description, reflect only popular and religious traditions.
