Abstract

In this paper we publish the editio princeps of a Greek epigram dedicated to Hippocrates, that we found in two manuscripts, Laurent. Plut. 74.13 and Paris. Gr. 2596. The epigram has been written in connection with the two most renowned Hippocratic treatises, Oath and Aphorisms. The edition is linked with a context analysis from two different points of view: the epigrammatic production and its relevance in Byzantine times and the reading and interpretation of medical (mostly Hippocratic) tradition in the same period.
