From Vena Medeni to Vermes Sub Cute

This article focuses on the Arabo-Latin transmission of two chapters on diseases related to dracontiasis and morbus farciminosus described in Greek and Latin medical texts. Latinized fragments of Rhazes, Avicenna, Haly Abbas, Abulcasis and Avenzoar are analyzed. We also pay attention to the ancient Greek and Latin sources of these chapters. In some of the Latin translations that we have analyzed, we discover a special use of the term uermis in the field of pathology.Downloads
