Abstract

In Xenophon of Ephesus’ Anthia and Habrocomes (1st – 2nd centuries AD) two episodes address medical topics that are most controversial nowadays: assisted suicide and malingering. This article provides an analysis of both episodes aiming to reconstruct the ancient Greek views on these subjects and better understand their cultural past.
