Abstract

This essay traces the history of ‘oniric images’ as phantasmata  in the Greek ancient thought from Homer to Stoicism. The author will follow the indications fournished by the concept of ‘oniric deceit’, i.e. phantasma  as illusory appearance hiding to the sleeper its own deceitful nature.
