Abstract
This paper firstly gives a list of all the pathological smells that the doctors of the Hippocratic Corpus have mentionned, mostly about male patients. It takes then into account the way they described them, refering sometimes to smell cooking or to any daily smell. Moreover, the place they gave to a smell in a series of symptoms reveals how important it could be for the identification of a disease. Finally, taken as a sign, bad smelling was rarely subject to separate treatment, except in a unique cosmetic prescription.
