The article deals with the topic of shame, expressed in gynaecological and medical text between XVIII ans XIX century. Feminine shame is a 'longue durèe' affair in the history of medicine since the Classical Age. Which is the way physicians used to discuss over female reproductive organs and women's desease? Which is the way women used to speak about their own bodies?
