Abstract

Narrative ethics is the first step to reconsider applied ethics as a form of art criticism, because the action has to be read as a text or as a work of art, located in a cultural and historical context, and possessing the features of “aboutness”, embodied meaning, universal appeal, inherent legality. Danto’s aesthetic researches, especially those regarding the abuse of beauty, are very useful to change the main-stream perspective and the key words of contemporary clinical ethics, a discipline that tries to give sound reasons for morally evaluating an action or a judgement.
