Abstract
Science and art live together in animal images from the Renaissance, but a fine artistic rendering of the live animals dates only from the eighteenth century. The studies on the art of natural history in the last years explore the role of images and texts, the forms of collaboration between scientists and artists, the engraving and paintings techniques.
