About the Journal

Annali MEMOTEF is a peer-review multidisciplinary journal published by the Department of Methods and Models for Economics, Territory and Finance of Sapienza University of Rome.

The journal collects original studies in all the disciplines of the Department (demography, economic geography, languages, mathematics, statistics and economic history) and more generally from applied and behavioural sciences. In particular, the contributions, concern the organization and dynamics of economic-financial systems, the rules and mechanisms of organised systems, risk management, regional development and resource management, as well as evolutionary processes in psycholinguistics and sociolinguistics, covering empirical, methodological and computational aspects.

The aim of this journal is to bring together scholars of different disciplines to promote scientific-cultural debate, in order to share ideas, methods and tools for the analysis and solution of problems that, for their variety and complexity, require knowledge beyond the confines of a single discipline. The papers are often multidisciplinary in nature. The papers cover a variety of disciplines, with an informative, academic and professional purpose, and a very high standard of precision and academic rigour. They address a broad and varied readership.

Theoretical or original empirical papers, as well as specific case studies and literature reviews, are all considered for publication.

- Methods and models for research in the fields of Historical Economics and Economic History

All the works published in the Annali MEMOTEF are subject to a rigorous process of peer-reviewing, which takes place in two phases: (i) a first assessment of the relevance and interest of the topic for the journal is made by the Managing Editor and the Editorial Board; (ii) two anonymous referees then assess the quality of the paper, considering its originality and methodological soundness.

The Annals are published online first and collected in a paper volume once a year edited by Sapienza Università Editrice (Sapienza University Press).

Publication is free of charge for the Author(s) and open access: all articles published by the Annals are made freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon publication, without subscription charges or registration barriers.

Manuscripts accepted for publication are normally in English, but papers will also be accepted in Italian, French, Spanish and German. Special Issues will occasionally occur on specific themes of particular interest to scholars of applied sciences. There is also a section for discussions and debates about papers that have been published in previous editions, as well as book and conference reviews.
