Abstract

Anthaxia (Anthaxia) patsyae n. sp. from south-western Iran is herein described and illustrated. It is compared with its most similar species, Anthaxia (Anthaxia) midas Kiesenwetter, 1857. The unmistakable pattern of its pronotal sculpture, together with other morphological features, suggest to include this new species in the Anthaxia (Anthaxia) salicis (Fabricius, 1776) “species-group”.
