Abstract

The new species Leptotyphlus (Odontotyphlus) carfanius sp. nov. is described from Gallicano (Lucca province), in northern Tuscany. It is the second known species of the subgenus Odontotyphlus Coiffait, 1972 from the Italian peninsula and it is most closely related to some species from Provence (France), from which it differs by the different shape of labrum and male genitalia.
