New and interesting records of jewel and longhorn beetles from Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, Italy (Coleoptera: Buprestidae and Cerambycidae)
DOI: 10.4081/fe.2020.412
Abstract
The present article lists distributional data about 19 taxa, which are new records for the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, respectively – 16 jewel and 3 longhorn beetles. Data about 4 Italian endemics (2 buprestids and 2 cerambycids) are listed, and the category of risk according to the Italian IUCN Red Lists is also indicated for each species (when available); among the listed species, 1 is Endangered, 1 is Near threatened and 27 are Least concern.
Main Text
Introduction
Since 1922 the Abruzzo National Park (recently expanded to the present-day Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park) was founded as a restricted area. It is the oldest National Park in Italy. The first entomological researches carried on in Abruzzo began in the early of 20th century, before the foundation of the National Park, and continue to present days. Many publications about different groups of insects have been published during this period.
The results of our study is based on the determination of the collected material as well as on the data providing from literature sources. The category of Risk of all studied beetles (when available) are indicated according to the IUCN Red List criteria, following the recently published Italian Red Lists of Saproxylic beetles (Audisio et al. 2014; Carpaneto et al. 2015).
Material and methods
During the collecting trips the traditional entomological methods were used.

Conclusions
Nineteen taxa are new for the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park territory – 16 jewel and 3 longhorn beetles, respectively. The refugial character of the area and the favorable environmental conditions inside the park territory are underlined by presence of four Italian endemic buprestids and cerambycids. Among the listed species, in terms of IUCN categories of risk, one is Endangered, one is Near threatened, and 27 are Least concern.
