Abstract

The knowledge, valorization and dissemination of the geographical heritage preserved in the libraries and archives of the Army's military schools represents a further point of arrival of the current theme of the recovery, cataloging and valorization of that historical geography unknown to the academic world. Military schools, as institutions that create and preserve knowledge, fit perfectly into this research context; the reconnaissance carried out at each location, from the most recently established to the historic ones, confirms the vastness, but also the lack of a rational conservative archival organization and the consequent poor usability of these entities. The arrival point of this very first research highlights the need to launch targeted in-depth paths that tend to enhance, but at the same time safeguard, focusing on the dissemination of the rich and in many cases precious documentation.
