Abstract

The Albinelli Market is located in the center of the city of Modena and constitutes a fundamental piece of its history. The Market is the subject of an extensive renewal process starting from 2015, with the inclusion of new activities such as catering. Today it is a place of consumption but also a meeting place that shows interesting internal dynamics and relationships with the city. For his analysis, an approach is proposed that takes into consideration the soundscape, as defined by Raymond Murray Schäfer. The aim is to underline the importance that the sense of hearing can have in deepening the narration of the place. In this perspective, some sound notes recorded inside the metal structure of the Market are proposed in order to identify the sounds and noises that characterize it and provide new ideas for the study of these places.
