The paper elaborates a scheme of capitalist “reproduction” that outlines a “steady-state” condition of the international “centralization of capital”. By investigating the possible links between trade imbalances, capital centralization and “imperialism”, it is possible to determine the existence and stability properties of the steady state of centralization and interpret them as potential “economic conditions” of deterioration or pacification of international relations.
