Auf der Suche nach einem Kraut gegen die Kontamination. Ein neues Verfahren zur Konstruktion eines stemma codicum in Fällen kontaminierter Textüberlieferung
Abstract
A new method of construing a stemma codicum for the surviving manuscripts of an ancient text is developed which works even if these manuscripts are contaminated. It is based on the idea that the structure of a stemma for a given set of manuscripts is composed of the structures of all those subsets of this set which have three members, the structure of such a subset being determined, if X, Y, and Z are its members, by whether the first two members of none, of one, of two or of each of the ordered triplets <X, Y, Z>, <X, Z, Y>, and <Y, Z, X> have common significant errors that connect them with each other and separate them, by their absence in it, from the third.
