Abstract

This article, responding to some observations and reflections proposed by Fabio Dei in a speech appeared in the 1-2/2012 number of this journal, outlines, on the background of the contemporary international situation, some features of the Italian disciplinary tradition, with particular reference to the relationship between domestic and exotic Anthropology, focusing on the founding figures of Antonio Gramsci and Ernesto de Martino and on today’s outlook for the studies.
