Abstract

The public debate on the negative environmental and social impacts of capitalism and the free market has pushed more holistic visions and perspectives of territorial development, which postulate the adoption of a different economic way to act at the local level, with a direct call to territories and communities as active subjects in projects oriented towards the common objective of bringing economic exchanges back into a 'solidarity' dimension, which allows citizens to decide not only which goods to purchase but also which production choices to adopt. The aim of this work is to shed light on the entrepreneurial realities in the solidarity economy panorama of Friuli Venezia Giulia region, as subjects of an action aimed at the re-territorialisation of economic processes starting from the agri-food sector, through the creation of new local solidarity networks that integrate production, processing, distribution and consumption in a socially and environmentally sustainable manner.
