Abstract

This contribution, through the description of an ethnographic fragment, aims to investigate those interstitial spaces where the state, represented by the actions of its officials, intersects with social workers operating within the sphere of juvenile criminal justice. By describing a specific situation involving a social worker, a mediator, social operators, and a minor subject to a judicial measure, the article seeks to shed light on the different dimensions, strategies, and positions that characterize the interaction between public institutions and private social actors, as observed in the daily professional practices of those involved.
