Abstract
Paolo Guarino (1975) is adjunct professor in Electoral Marketing and Political Consultancy at the Department of Political Studies (University of Florence). He is been working for more than ten years in political communication. Among his several consultancies realised during the last few years, Guarino was also in charge of communication for the election campaign of Ignazio Marino as major of Rome. It's about this campaign that Guarino widely speaks in his article, trying to clarify the function of the spin-doctor in the complex italian scenario.
