Abstract

This article proposes a study of sports images and their effects on the viewer's perception and memory. The emphasis is on Cruijff and the Dutch football of 1974, intended as a crucial point for the conjunction that television makes between viewer and performer. In a convergence between romantic aesthetics and communication theory, the focus is on the discontinuities of time that these images provide, outlining an aesthetic experience founded on rhythm, choc and replay.
